Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Israel will pay the price for developments in the Middle East.
In a reaction to the media on Friday morning after the Eid al-Fitr prayer, Erdogan initially conveyed a congratulatory message for the holiday, emphasizing the importance of unity, coexistence and solidarity.
"We left behind the blessed month of Ramadan and today we have the honor of celebrating Eid al-Fitr. I hope that this holiday brings goodness, salvation and unity to the entire Muslim world and to our country," he said.
The Turkish president then focused on the situation in the region, stating that the Middle East is in a tense state. He harshly criticized Israel for its actions and added that there is no doubt that there will be consequences for these developments.
"The region is in turmoil and what is happening is very serious. I have no doubt that Israel will face the consequences," Erdogan declared.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has taken responsibility for attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure, such as the South Pars field, part of the world's largest natural gas reserve, while denying the involvement of the United States.
Netanyahu also responded to Trump's call to not repeat attacks on such key targets. President Trump himself said two days ago, when the attacks took place, that the US was not aware. Among other things, Netanyahu said that Iran "is no longer capable of enriching uranium" and is no longer capable of producing ballistic missiles.
World oil prices remain high, reaching $115 a barrel yesterday. Iran has again attacked oil targets in Israel and Qatar. Kuwait announced overnight that the Mina Al-Ahmadi oil refinery had been attacked again by Iranian drones, causing fires in several units. The refinery had also been hit the day before.
