Will the US invade Cuba? US general considers it speculation

According to a high-ranking general, the US military is not preparing an invasion of Cuba.

The relevant US military command is also not actively preparing for a military invasion of the island, General Francis Donovan said at a Senate hearing on Thursday.

However, the US is prepared to respond to threats to its embassy and help manage a mass exodus from the island. 

Donovan's claims are a reaction to recent statements by US President Donald Trump, who declared that he can "do whatever he wants" with the neighboring country.
