British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the UK will support Denmark in response to US President Donald Trump's claims regarding Greenland's sovereignty.
Asked about Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen's harsh response to Trump, Sir Keir today showed a rare and clear distancing from the US president by contradicting him regarding Greenland.
"I'm on her side, Frederiksen is right about the future of Greenland," Starmer said.
Greenland's Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen also reacted harshly to Trump, demanding that Trump's pressure stop.
Earlier, President Trump stated that the US needs Greenland for its national security and, according to him, Denmark will not be able to take care of it.
"We need Greenland, for the security of the United States," Trump told reporters on Air Force One.
