Israeli attacks, 'UNICEF' raises the alarm: Over 400 children are

A recent report released by UNICEF reveals that around 3,500 children were reported killed and more than 6,800 children were reportedly injured during the 25 days of continuous bombing in Gaza.

According to UNICEF, Gaza has become a "graveyard for thousands of children", where more than 400 are killed or injured every day. Gazans say parenting in the war-torn land has become a "curse".

According to the global charity Save the Children, in just over three weeks, the ongoing war has claimed the lives of more children than all the world's conflicts combined in the last three years.

In the crowded Gaza Strip, almost half of the 2.3 million residents are under the age of 18, and so far, about 40 percent of the dead have been children.

" This cannot become the new normal. The children have already endured a lot. The killing and enslavement of children must be stopped. Children are not a target. "The scenes of carnage coming from the Jabaliya camp in the Gaza Strip after the attacks yesterday and again today are horrific and appalling ," the statement said.

The UN agency said it does not yet have estimates of the number of child deaths from the camp. Medical officials on the ground have confirmed hundreds of wounded and killed, including many children, following the airstrikes.

UNICEF announced that refugee camps are protected under international law and parties to the conflict have obligations to respect and protect civilians from attacks, foreign media reported.
