The attacks were against targets in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp. According to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health, around 70 people were killed in the attacks.
The Israel Defense Forces have admitted that there was what it called unintentional civilian harm as a result of airstrikes in central Gaza on December 24.
" Before the attacks were carried out, steps were taken by the IDF to mitigate the damage to uninvolved civilians in the area. A preliminary investigation revealed that other buildings located near the targets were also hit during the attacks, which likely caused unintended damage to other civilians not involved ," the statement said.
