US President Donald Trump had a tense argument with Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy after the journalist asked him about allegations that Russia could help Iran target US troops.
The incident occurred Friday, at the end of a White House College Sports Roundtable, when Doocy raised the issue of an exclusive report by The Washington Post, published earlier in the day, that spoke of Moscow's possible involvement in Iran's recent military activities.
"President Trump, it looks like the Russians are helping Iran target and attack Americans now," the reporter asked.
Trump immediately reacted by dismissing the question and berating the journalist.
" This is an easy problem compared to what we're doing here. But can I be honest? I have a lot of respect for you, you've always been very kind to me. But what a stupid question to ask at this time. We're talking about something else ," the US president replied.
After this reaction, Trump decided to immediately move on to another question, ending the tense exchange with the Fox News journalist.
