Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that US President Donald Trump had told him before his election for a second term that preventing an Iranian nuclear weapon should be an absolute priority.
In a video statement, Netanyahu said he had met Trump in Florida a few months before the election, where he said the US president had told him: " Bibi, we must ensure at all costs that Iran does not obtain nuclear weapons ."
In the same statement, Netanyahu also addressed the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (Pasdaran), warning that Israeli forces are targeting them. He said those who surrender and lay down their weapons may be spared, while others will face attacks.
"I say to the Pasdaran: you are targeted. Whoever surrenders will be spared, otherwise we will be hit," he declared.
The Israeli prime minister also addressed the Iranian people, saying that the moment for change is approaching.
"The moment of truth is approaching. Liberation from the yoke of the regime depends on you," Netanyahu said, adding that he hopes that one day Israel and Iran can be friends again.
In his statement, Netanyahu also criticized Western leaders, accusing them of a lack of determination in the face of the situation in Iran.
According to him, many countries are seeking cooperation with Israel because they see the "hypocrisy of the United Nations" and the "weakness of Western leaders."
The Israeli Prime Minister stressed that Israel will continue its military operations with determination.
"War is won with initiative, ingenuity and determination. We are changing the face of the Middle East," he said.
Netanyahu added that the goal of the war, according to him, is not only to eliminate the Iranian nuclear threat, but also to create broader stability in the region.
