A video posted this morning on a Telegram channel linked to the Wagner Group shows its leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, meeting with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov.
The BBC has used biometric facial comparison tools and it is most likely Yevkurov.
Vladimir Stepanovich Alekseev, deputy chief of Russia's military intelligence service, was also present at the meeting with Prigozhin, according to the Telegram post. However, there is no confirmation about it.
The meeting reportedly took place on Saturday morning at the headquarters of the Russian army's southern military district in the southern city of Rostov-on-Don. It is not known whether there were negotiations before the coup d'état, or whether we have the involvement of the army chiefs in this event.
