United States President Donald Trump has given his reasons for deleting the photo of himself as Jesus Christ.
In the image, Trump appeared to be radiating light from his hands while “healing” a patient lying in a hospital, with a demonic figure in the background. The post was later deleted by the president himself, but only after it had prompted a backlash.
The strongest criticism came from his conservative and Christian supporters, who called the post "disgusting" and unacceptable. Many of them, who had previously supported Trump in other controversial cases, expressed open anger at the publication.
Trump responded briefly to the issue, saying the image was intended to portray him as a "doctor who heals people," and not as a religious figure.
