The first reaction from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has come after the decision of the Court of Appeal in London, which overturned the British government's decision to send immigrants to Rwanda.
He said he disagrees with their decision and that Rwanda is a safe country for immigrants.
"I respect the court, I fundamentally disagree with their conclusions but I strongly believe that the Rwandan government has given the necessary guarantees to ensure that there is no real risk that asylum seekers resettled under Rwanda's policy will be wrongly returned to third countries – something that the Lord Chief Justice agrees with.
Rwanda is a safe country. The Supreme Court agreed. UNHCR has its own refugee scheme for Libyan refugees in Rwanda. We will now seek leave to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court.
This government's policy is very simple, it is this country - and your government - that should decide who comes here, not the criminal gangs. And I will do whatever it takes to do that," says Sunak.
The Court of Appeal in London has overturned the British government's plan to send asylum seekers to Rwanda, declaring it illegal.
Two of the three judges of the Appeal in London argued that Rwanda was not a "safe country" for migrants who arrive on dinghies to England and then seek asylum.
The British government was confident that the Court of Appeal would uphold the controversial plan to allow all those who arrive in Britain illegally to seek asylum to enter Rwanda.
Meanwhile, human rights and refugee protection organizations thought that this plan would be unworkable, even because of the staggering costs.
