Two armored vans were attacked on Friday afternoon by an armed gang. The robbery took place on the Variante Aurelia at the exit of the southern tunnel of San Vincenzo (Livorno).
Both vans are said to belong to the Battistolli company. The dynamics of the attack are still unclear. What is certain is that the perpetrators of the robbery intervened with two vehicles and were able to stop the convoy by attacking one of the two vans and threatening the security guards with weapons.
The gang, whose number of members is still unknown, then fled in other vehicles after committing the robbery. The investigation is being carried out by the Piombino Carabinieri investigative unit.
Traffic police, as well as medical services and the fire department, also intervened at the scene.
The amount of money stolen is still unknown.
