Greece uses AI to select 25,000 of its most distinguished civil servants,

25,000 civil servants will receive bonuses of up to 2,000 euros this year in Greece, with an assessment and selection made by Artificial Intelligence.

The Ministry of Interior said it is preparing a bonus for the most distinguished public sector employees with the 13th salary, as part of the universal implementation of the productivity bonus by 2025.

Interior Minister Thodoris Livanios and the responsible deputy minister Vivi Charalambogianni achieved a doubling of the amount to be given to productive leaders in the public sector, increasing the specific amount to 40 million euros.

In this way, the final plan foresees that within the first months of 2026, an additional amount will be made available to approximately 25,000 beneficiaries as a reward, which will start at 1,250 euros and could reach 2,000 euros.

These are leaders working in 99 public bodies and critical services of all municipalities in the country. "Protothema" informs that the goals were formulated entirely with the help of Artificial Intelligence and the SMART method.

Selection for reward is calculated using a performance measurement scale and the data is transferred to the Reward Information System.

Subsequently, the selection of suitable employees and the amount of remuneration is carried out by their line managers and not by the political leadership.
