Hamas has claimed responsibility for a terrorist attack at a bus station in Jerusalem this morning that killed three people and injured 16 others.
In a statement on Telegram, Hamas acknowledged that its military wing, the Al Qassam Brigades, launched a "heroic operation in Jerusalem."
The militant group revealed the names of the militants, who are Murad Muhammad Nimr, 38, and Ibrahim Muhammad Nimr, 30. According to Israeli police, both were killed at the scene.
"As we mourn our Mujahideen martyrs, we confirm that this operation came as a natural response to the unprecedented crimes of the occupation, including the brutal massacres in the Gaza Strip and the killing of children in Jenin, and the widespread violations against which our prisoners are exposed in the occupier's prisons," the statement said.
Hamas repeated its calls for "escalating resistance".
