US President, Joe Biden Biden is known to have asked allies not to give credence to Vladimir Putin's claims that the Wagner uprising was caused by the intervention of the West.
In a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, it is said that Biden asked them to be careful with the statements they make regarding the uprising in Moscow.
The message, according to people close to the president, was to stay calm and stay out of Russia's internal affairs to avoid "World War III."
A similar message went out from Washington to US embassies, which were told that if asked by their host governments to comment on the situation they should say that "the United States has no intention of becoming involved in this matter".
A message was also sent to the Russian government by the Biden administration that the U.S. would not get involved, according to people familiar with the matter.

The surprise deal brokered by Belarus to end the difficult crisis has given US officials confidence that the situation is completely calm.
