Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized an Israeli court for allowing a left-wing protest against the war in Iran.
Israel's High Court of Justice has increased the number of people allowed to gather for prayer services at the Western Wall in Jerusalem, following petitions submitted by religious leaders.
Outdoor public gatherings are limited to 50 people by the Home Front Command due to the risk of missiles from Iran.
A temporary order was issued yesterday by way of a special permit, allowing up to 600 people to participate in an anti-war protest in the evening in Tel Aviv.
This prompted criticism from Benjamin Netanyahu, who said it was unfair that a left-wing demonstration was being allowed restrictions while prayer services were not given the same freedom.
"Freedom of protest is important, but freedom of prayer is no less important. During wartime, the only authority that determines security measures is the Home Front Command ," Netanyahu said.
In a response, the High Court of Justice has now said that the number of people allowed to gather at the Western Wall and the Temple Mount has been increased from 50 to 100.
