Three United States Air Force (USAF) B-1B Lancer heavy bombers took off from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday, on a mission that is believed to be most likely aimed at Iran. Each of the aircraft is capable of carrying a number of weapons known as “bunker destroyers.”

According to reports, B-52 and B-1B aircraft have been operating from this base for weeks, carrying out attacks on various targets using a combination of JDAM guided bombs and long-range cruise missiles.

The mission of the aircraft launched this afternoon is expected to last 15 hours or more, including several refueling stops en route and on the way back, indicating a long-range operation with high logistical complexity.

This move appears to be related to the ultimatum of President Donald Trump, who has previously stated that he is considering the possibility of "destroying everything and taking control of the oil" in Iran if an agreement is not reached soon to end the war.

However, in an interview with Fox News, Trump said there was a "good chance" that a deal could be reached as early as tomorrow.

"They are negotiating now ," he declared.

In another statement to the Wall Street Journal, Trump warned that if Iran tries to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed, they will lose every power plant and every other energy facility they have across the country. He had previously set a deadline of Monday, April 6, for Iran to reach a deal.

In a new post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: "Tuesday, 8:00 PM Eastern Time!", referring to the deadline.

The deployment of B1-B aircraft could be a form of pressure on Iran, to show it that, unlike previous warnings, it is no longer bluffing.

On the other hand, Iran has declared that the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for oil transportation, will only be "reopened" when the financial damages from the war are "fully compensated." Meanwhile, the entire world, gripped by the energy crisis, turns its eyes to Tehran to see their response.
