At least 11 people, including a 4-year-old girl, were killed by Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon as a third of the country's population celebrated Easter Sunday. One attack hit the southern village of Kfarhata, killing seven people, including a 4-year-old girl, Lebanon's National News Agency reported, citing the country's health ministry.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had issued an evacuation order for the village overnight, telling residents to move at least one kilometer away.
A separate Israeli strike killed at least four people and wounded 40 others when it hit a residential area of Beirut, near the Rafik Hariri Public Hospital, according to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) who are supporting operations at the hospital.
“We are seeing elderly people and teenagers arriving with critical injuries to the head, chest and abdomen, including shrapnel wounds. When attacks hit densely populated residential areas without warning, the consequences are severe: both in human casualties and in the ability of hospitals to respond,” said Dr. Luna Hammad, MSF Medical Coordinator, in a post from the hospital’s emergency room.

Footage from the scene showed rescue workers searching through the rubble left by collapsed buildings, and large plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the scene in geo-tagged images by CNN. The IDF had issued an evacuation order for a nearby building and the surrounding area earlier on Saturday.
