US attack, Iranian leaders towards Kremlin; Trump's private and public

From the US warning that it will attack Iran again to the Iranian leaders' game with the Kremlin. What to expect from the meeting with Putin, one of Iran's allies?

The US has warned it will strike again and that the world "must listen to Trump" after an unprecedented attack on three nuclear facilities.

This warning comes shortly after the Iranian Foreign Minister revealed that he will meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and warned the West of an "unprecedented danger."

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said Operation Midnight Hammer was "an extraordinary and overwhelming success" that required months and weeks of planning.

He added that Trump has been clear that "any retaliation by Iran" against the US will be "met with much greater force" than what was seen on Saturday night.

"When this President speaks, the world should listen," he said.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arghchi has said he will travel to Russia today to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

"I will go to Moscow this afternoon and tomorrow morning I will meet with President Putin," Arghchi said.

The latter called Moscow a "friend of Iran," adding that "we always consult with each other."

There are fears that the conflict could escalate into a world war, with Putin's puppet, Dmitry Medvedev, making a veiled threat to supply Iran with nuclear weapons.

He said that "a number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their nuclear weapons."

After declaring the US strikes successful, Trump warned that further action could be taken if Tehran does not accept a suitable peace deal.

He said in a speech broadcast by the White House that "Iran, the Middle East's bully, must now make peace. If it doesn't, future attacks will be much bigger and much easier."

"There will either be peace, or there will be tragedy for Iran far greater than what we have seen over the last eight days.

Remember, there are many objectives left. Tonight was the hardest of them all, so far, and probably the deadliest.

But if peace does not come soon, we will pursue those other objectives with precision, speed, and skill.

"Most of them can be eliminated in a matter of minutes. There is no army in the world that could have done what we did tonight," Trump said.

And immediately after speaking on camera, he posted on Truth Social: “This cannot continue. Either there will be peace, or there will be a tragedy for Iran far greater than what we have seen over the last eight days.”

Meanwhile, Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Arghchi, called the attacks "outrageous and will have lasting consequences."

He also called the military action "a grave violation of the UN Charter, international law and the NPT by attacking Iran's peaceful nuclear installations."

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has warned that the conflict in the Middle East is "highly volatile".

He wrote in X: “Iran’s nuclear program is a serious threat to international security, and Canada has been consistently clear that Iran can never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.”

"While the US military action taken last night was designed to alleviate this threat, the situation in the Middle East remains highly volatile. Stability in the region is a priority. Canada calls on the parties to return immediately to the negotiating table and reach a diplomatic solution to end this crisis," Carney wrote.

On the other hand, Iran said its nuclear know-how "cannot be destroyed" after the United States carried out a series of attacks on Sunday on atomic facilities in the Islamic Republic.

"They should know that this industry has roots in our country and the roots of this national industry cannot be destroyed," said Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, according to the Tasnim news agency.

"Of course, we have suffered damage, but this is not the first time the industry has suffered damage," he added.

But US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth revealed that there were "public and private messages being sent directly to the Iranians."

He added that they were being delivered "through multiple channels."

Hegseth added that “Iran understands exactly what the American position is, exactly what steps they can take to allow peace.”

The chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Dan Caine, revealed that the operation was codenamed "Midnight Hammer".

Caine said that at midnight on Friday, a giant pack of B-2 bombers took off from the US, but - to stay under the radar, some flew west, into the Pacific.

This was called an "attempted fraud."

Caine explained that "the attack was planned and executed on many fronts with a coordination that reflects our ability to project power globally with speed and precision at the time and place of our nation's choosing." /Adapted from The Sun Pamphlet/
