The head of a mafia gang in Budva, Montenegro, was injured on Thursday in an assassination attempt on him in the swimming pool inside a hotel complex in the city of Budva. The target of the assassination is Marko Ljubiša, known by the nickname 'Kan'. Ljubiša, a Montenegrin citizen, is the head of the Budva gang, which is close to the notorious 'Shkalar' clan.
A man dressed in light clothes, shorts and with a bag over his shoulder, descends the hotel stairs and approaches 'Kani' and shoots him with a pistol, footage published by Vijesti shows.
The video shows the attacker sneaking down the stairs, shooting the gang boss and fleeing the scene. Marko Ljubisa was injured, but his life is not in danger, according to initial information from Montenegrin police.
'Kan' has been labeled as a person of interest to security, whose name has been present in reports of criminal activities on the Montenegrin coast for years.
He is considered close to the 'Shkaljar' criminal clan and three previous assassination attempts were organized against him by the rival 'Kavaç' clan in Montenegro.
