Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reacted after the bombing of a cable-stayed bridge in central Iran, stating that attacks on civilian infrastructure will not affect the country's stance.
In a public post, he stressed that such targets, including still-unfinished bridges, cannot force the Iranian people to surrender. According to him, these actions show weakness, not strength, on the part of the adversary.
Araqchi added that the damage to infrastructure is recoverable and that the facilities hit will be rebuilt stronger. He argued that the most serious consequence of these attacks is related to the damage to the international reputation of the United States.
The statement comes at a time of rising tensions in the region and following reports of strikes on strategic facilities within Iranian territory.
