The words of the Israeli prime minister show that the fascist government of the Jewish state is now more fascist than Jewish.
There is a connection between the statements of the far-right Israeli minister, Bezalel Smotrich, about the future of Gaza as a real estate Eldorado, to be shared with his American friends, and the speech given the day before by Benjamin Netanyahu on the need for Israel to become “a super Sparta.” I would say almost the same thing.
The militaristic and supremacist delirium represented by the myth of Sparta is as far removed from the tradition of the Jewish people as one can imagine; in fact, it has always been a typical reference for all its worst enemies and persecutors.
And it is also proof that the fascist ministers have achieved complete hegemony not only over the executive branch, but also over the prime minister himself.
Netanyahu's words, especially when read in parallel with Smotrich's, clearly show that the fascist government of the Jewish state is now more fascist than Jewish.
The idea of forcing millions of Palestinians to leave, demolishing their homes and building a gigantic real estate speculation on them, together with friend Trump, can be considered in all respects as the christening of Netanyahu's "Super Sparta".
The connection is not only logical and political, but also aesthetic and lexical: a panorama of the new global fascism that finds distinct echoes in both the words of the Israeli prime minister and the statements of the American president, in that mixture of speculation, narcissism and worthless machismo that characterizes all champions of "illiberal democracy", from Viktor Orbán to Vladimir Putin.
All the more reason to worry about the position of the Italian government, which in Europe continues to refrain from any serious stance on Gaza, only to try to save face with a slight distancing from the most extreme choices of the Israeli right./ Taken from "Linkiesta", adapted by "Pamphlet"
