As war rhetoric returns strongly in the Persian Gulf, Iran has left the door open for negotiations with the United States. The signal came from one of Tehran's top security figures, Ali Larijani, who declared that "a framework for negotiations with the United States is being shaped."
In a post on the X platform, Larijani emphasized that, despite the tense climate: “ Contrary to the atmosphere created by the ‘artificial war’ of the media, the construction of a structure for negotiations is underway .”
He did not provide concrete details on the content or possible timelines of this dialogue, leaving room for diplomatic interpretations at an extremely delicate moment.
The statement comes as a large US military armada has arrived in the Middle East, increasing pressure on Tehran. On Friday, US President Donald Trump said from the Oval Office that Iran wants to reach a deal with the US.
" I can tell you they want to make a deal ," Trump told reporters.
Asked if he had given the Iranians a deadline, Trump replied curtly: "Yes," without elaborating. Earlier, he warned that "time is running out" before a possible attack on Iran, adding that he "hopes" a military strike will not be necessary as pressure for a nuclear deal grows.
