Faced with new threats from the United States, Iran has reacted harshly, warning that it is ready for a response "like never before" in the event of a US military attack.
The reaction comes after statements by former President Donald Trump, who left open the possibility of a military intervention against Tehran, making it conditional on the progress of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program.
Through an official post on the X network, the Iranian Mission to the UN expressed its readiness for dialogue, but under clear conditions: " Iran remains open to dialogue on the basis of mutual respect and mutual interests, but if it is pushed, it will defend itself and respond like never before ."
In the same post, Iran recalls with irony and warning the previous US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, underlining that "the last time the US went to war in the Middle East, it lost over 7,000 soldier lives and spent more than 7 trillion dollars for a catastrophic result."
This harsh tone from Tehran comes at a time when tensions in the region have increased significantly, following the deployment of US forces near the Persian Gulf and the increase in threatening rhetoric from Washington. However, Iran leaves the window of diplomacy open, but conditions it with equality and respect, rejecting any form of imposition or military pressure.
The situation remains volatile, as regional states, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, are trying to mediate behind the scenes to avoid a direct military clash between the two powers.
