Iran warns of traffic control in Hormuz: Only our partners will benefit!

Iranian authorities have announced that a new mechanism is being prepared to manage maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important energy transport routes in the world.

The head of the National Security Committee in the Iranian parliament, Ebrahim Azizi, stated that the system will be implemented through a designated navigation corridor and will favor commercial ships as well as countries or companies that cooperate with Iran.

According to him, this mechanism will also include the provision of specialized services, for which fees will be applied.

"Only commercial ships and parties cooperating with Iran will benefit from the new mechanism for managing traffic in the Strait of Hormuz," the head of the Iranian parliament's National Security Committee said.

Azizi emphasized that further details on the mode of operation will be published in the coming days.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a key point for global energy trade, with approximately 20% of the world's oil and natural gas supplies passing through it. Since the outbreak of war on February 28, Iran has significantly restricted traffic through this strategic area.

Recent developments have added to tensions in international markets, raising concerns about the impact the situation in Hormuz could have on global energy supplies.
