The Iranian armed forces said they respect the interests and sovereignty of neighboring countries and have not launched any attacks against them. The statement was published through Iranian state media.
The reaction comes after Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized to neighboring countries for the recent incidents. He announced that Iran's interim ruling council has decided to ban missile attacks on countries in the region, except in cases where an attack on Iran is launched from their territory.
In a statement published by the semi-official Mehr news agency, the Khatam-al Anbiya headquarters, which coordinates the Iranian army and Revolutionary Guard, stressed that: "Iran's armed forces respect the interests and national sovereignty of neighboring states and have not taken any hostile action against them."
However, the same statement warns that Iran's objectives in the region remain American and Israeli interests.
"All military bases and interests belonging to the United States and the Zionist regime on land, sea and space throughout the region will be considered prime targets of powerful attacks by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran ," the statement said.
