Former CIA officer John Sipher has called on Ukraine's Western allies to offer support to the war-torn country, stressing that Russian President Vladimir Putin is now "weak".
Sipher, who worked in the Central Intelligence Agency's National Clandestine Service, made his plea to Western countries as the $60 billion aid package remains blocked in the US Congress.
"We have a historic opportunity to defeat an enemy that has been at war with us for years. Putin is destroying everything that matters to us. He is weak now. Stop being so timid and act like a superpower,” said Sipher.
This statement comes after calls by the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, for the approval of the billion package.
