Amid the somber backdrop of Pope Francis' funeral, a momentous diplomatic encounter unfolded inside St. Peter's Basilica, as US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met for a brief but reportedly "productive" discussion. The meeting took place minutes before the start of the funeral mass. The meeting took place in a side room of the historic basilica, where the two leaders were joined by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Ahead of his face-to-face meeting with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in St. Peter's Basilica, US President Donald Trump reportedly told French President Emmanuel Macron: "You're not in the right place here."

A video released yesterday afternoon by White House staff shows Trump and Zelensky walking to chairs set up for them by Vatican officials, joining Macron, who embraces the Ukrainian president. At that moment, Trump reaches out his hand to both of them and pulls them towards him. He then turns to Macron. “You’re not in the right place here. I need you to do me a favor, you don’t have to be here,” the White House leader reportedly told Macron, as Zelensky nodded in approval.

The Sun also asked Hickling, a lip-reading expert, to review footage of the subsequent meeting between Trump and Zelensky, during which the Ukrainian president reportedly said: "I'd like you to do it, but not in this way," to which Trump reportedly replied: "That's a very interesting strategy. You have some guarantees."
