Kamala Harris has been on the phone with supporters in Washington as voters head to the polls.
The vice president is at Democratic Party headquarters in Washington DC as she meets with supporters and staff.
Volunteers are calling people across the country to make sure they have voted or to encourage them to vote in support of Harris.
Speaking to a voter as Harris thanked them for their vote, the presidential candidate said it's important for everyone to participate and vote.
The next person Harris spoke to was an eight-year-old child, to whom Harris joked that he "can't wait until she's 10 years older so she can vote."
