The news was confirmed by a Harris campaign aide. This call officially ends the bitter race between the vice president and the former president.

The aide said she emphasized the importance of a peaceful transfer of power and being president for all Americans.

While it's worth noting that Harris is expected to deliver her final election speech at Howard this evening at around 10pm (ET).
