Following strong diplomatic tensions between Washington and Madrid, it appears that Spain has changed its stance regarding military cooperation with the United States.
The clash began after US President Donald Trump threatened to cut off trade relations with Spain, following Madrid's refusal to allow the use of Spanish military bases in operations against Iran.
For his part, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that he would not cooperate with the Trump administration on this issue.
However, according to the White House, the situation has changed in recent hours. The US president's spokeswoman, Caroline Leavitt, told reporters that Spain has now agreed to cooperate with the US military.
"I think they heard the president's message yesterday loud and clear," Leavitt said.
She added that the US military is currently coordinating with its counterparts in Spain on operational matters.
However, so far there has been no official confirmation from the Spanish authorities about this change of position.
