Tehran sets a clear condition for stopping the war: first, all aggression must stop!
Several powerful international powers have initiated contacts with Iran to discuss the possibility of a ceasefire in the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said several countries, including China, Russia and France, have contacted Tehran to discuss diplomatic efforts to stop the fighting.
According to him, Iran's main condition for accepting a ceasefire is a complete cessation of any further attacks against the country.
"For there to be a ceasefire, all aggression must first stop," Gharibabadi declared.
The statement comes at a time when international diplomatic efforts are intensifying to stem the escalation of the conflict and avoid a wider war in the region.
Meanwhile, several major countries are trying to mediate to open a channel for negotiations between the parties, as the escalation of attacks and counterattacks has raised fears of broader destabilization in the Middle East.
