Countless explosions over Tehran, Iran experiences its deadliest night of war

Powerful explosions reported in Tehran, Isfahan, Karaj and Tabriz as Iran warns of heavier missiles against Israel

Tehran is experiencing one of the heaviest nights of bombing since the start of the war, with a series of powerful explosions hitting the Iranian capital and several other cities in the country.

According to reports from the field, over the past few hours, successive explosions have been heard in different parts of the city, so loud that they have shaken the windows of buildings in many areas of the capital.

Large explosions have also been reported in the city of Karaj north of Tehran, while Iranian authorities have not yet provided detailed information about the targets hit or the consequences of the attacks.

Iranian air defense systems have been active all night over Tehran, with explosions and bright lights in the sky, especially in eastern areas of the city.

Meanwhile, air defense systems have been very active over Tehran overnight. This is not a sight we see every night, but tonight there was clear activity in the sky, especially in the eastern part of the capital.

Heavy shelling was also reported in Isfahan, where initial reports said several government buildings, including the governor's office, were hit. Other reports also pointed to damage near an ancient royal palace listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Explosions have also been reported in the city of Tabriz and several other strategic areas of Iran.

Some sources have suggested that the explosions in Isfahan may have occurred near nuclear facilities, while the International Atomic Energy Agency has previously stated that a large part of Iran's enriched uranium reserves are stored in underground structures in the city. However, there has been no independent confirmation of these reports.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard has announced that it has launched the 33rd wave of the military operation it calls "the promised operation", declaring that from this moment on, missiles weighing less than 1,000 kilograms will no longer be used.

According to their statement, some of these missiles have been launched towards targets in Israel and other areas of the region, while Iran warns of the use of increasingly heavy weapons in the coming days.

Tehran remains the epicenter of the bombings, with attacks hitting eastern, western and southern areas of the capital throughout the day and into the night.

We can say that this is one of the most severe nights that Tehran has experienced in terms of aerial bombardment.
