Trump warns Tehran: I am not happy with the new leader, attacks will continue

The US president expresses disappointment in the election of Mojtaba Khamenei and says the offensive against Iran will continue

United States President Donald Trump reacted to the election of Mojtaba Khamenei as the new supreme leader of Iran following the assassination of his father, Ali Khamenei.

During a statement to reporters in Florida, Trump said he is disappointed with the decision of the Iranian authorities and that the election of a new leader does not change the situation.

“We think it’s just going to bring the same problems to the country,” Trump said. He declined to give details on how the US administration would deal with the new leadership in Iran. “I’m not going to tell you. I’m not happy with it,” he added.

Trump also spoke about the ongoing military operations against Iran. He said the attacks have severely damaged the Iranian regime's drone and missile production capabilities.

According to him, American and Israeli forces have struck more than five thousand targets in Iran, including places where missiles are manufactured and distributed.

The US president also declared that the military operation called Operation Midnight Hammer was crucial to preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

"If we hadn't intervened and hit their potential, Iran would have had nuclear weapons. They would have used them a long time ago," Trump declared.
