Kremlin continues provocations, two Russian planes violate Lithuanian airspace

Today at around 6:00 PM, a Russian SU-30 aircraft and an IL-78 violated Lithuanian airspace, near the border between the Baltic country and the Kaliningrad Oblast.

As they entered Lithuanian airspace, the two planes were escorted by two Eurofighter Typhoon jets of the Spanish Air Force.

Immediately after this event, the Lithuanian president reacted, calling it a dangerous provocation.

" This evening, Russian military aircraft violated Lithuanian airspace. This is a clear violation of international law and the territorial integrity of Lithuania. This action confirms the importance of strengthening European air defense. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will summon representatives of the Russian embassy to protest against the reckless and dangerous behavior ," Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced on X.
