In 2025, global oil production remains concentrated in a few countries. According to reports from the World Population Review and other reliable sources, the largest oil producers include Saudi Arabia, Russia, and the United States.
Venezuela also holds a significant position in this sector, although its production has been hit by political and economic challenges. With some changes in international energy markets, it will be interesting to see how these dynamics develop in the coming years. There are several large countries that export tens of millions of barrels per day. In first place is America, which produces about 17.8 million barrels per day, thus maintaining the title of the largest producer in the world this year.
Second on the list is Saudi Arabia, which produces about 10.9 million barrels per day, while in third place is Russia with production of about 10.8 million barrels per day. Next comes Canada with about 5.9 million barrels per day, while in fifth place is Iran with about 5.1 million barrels per day, according to data from the World Population Review for 2025.
Other countries that occupy leading positions in oil production include Iraq, China, and the United Arab Emirates. Each of them produces more than 4 million barrels per day, thus contributing to the growth of their share in the global oil market.
Venezuela, despite having the world's largest proven oil reserves of more than 300 billion barrels, is not expected to be among the top producers in terms of volume by 2025. Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves, thanks to its vast deposits in the Orinoco Basin. However, oil production is currently at relatively low levels. This is due to long-term problems such as lack of investment, political instability, aging infrastructure and international sanctions.
