Attacks and tensions in several countries in the region; Azerbaijan reports strikes, while NATO and European countries increase readiness...
The conflict in the Middle East is rapidly expanding, as clashes between Iran, Israel and the United States are increasingly involving more countries in the region.
Attacks and tensions have been reported in several areas today, while international media reports that Azerbaijan has also been involved in recent developments, following drone strikes.
According to the country's Foreign Ministry, a drone hit the airport terminal building located in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, resulting in the injury of two people, and another fell on a school building in the village of Shakarabad.
At the same time, Lebanon, Qatar and Iraq continue to experience attacks and armed incidents related to regional conflicts. Drone and missile attacks have been reported near military bases and strategic areas, raising concerns about a wider spread of the conflict.
Cyprus has also been placed on alert, while European countries are increasing their military presence in the Eastern Mediterranean due to the unstable security situation.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have directly warned European countries. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei told Spanish television station TVE that European Union countries will “pay the price, sooner or later,” if they do not condemn the attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran.
Tehran's statements have heightened concern in Europe about the consequences of the conflict. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said Iran was "close" to becoming a threat to Europe and stressed the importance of neutralizing Tehran's nuclear and missile capabilities.
Rutte added that there is currently no need to activate NATO's Article 5, which provides for the alliance's collective defense, but stressed that the situation is being constantly monitored.
In this context, several European countries have begun to increase their military presence in the region. Spain has announced that it will send the frigate “Cristóbal Colón” to the Eastern Mediterranean, where it will join the French aircraft carrier “Charles de Gaulle” and Greek navy ships to strengthen security in the Cyprus area.
According to the Spanish Ministry of Defense, the deployment of this frigate, one of the most modern in the Spanish fleet, aims to demonstrate the European Union's commitment to the protection of its eastern borders and stability in the region.
Recent developments show that clashes between Iran and its adversaries are taking on an increasingly broader regional dimension, while the international community is warning of the risk of a larger conflict in the Middle East. / Pamphlet
