FBI Director Christopher Wray has stated that many foreign terrorist organizations have called for attacks against the West and America since the beginning of the conflict in Gaza.
Wray said the attacks by Hamas will inspire the most significant terrorist threat to the US since the rise of ISIS nearly a decade ago, writes Sky News.
" The actions of Hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration, the likes of which we have not seen since ISIS began its so-called caliphate several years ago ," Mr. Wray said.
The number of attacks on US military bases overseas by Iranian-backed militia groups has increased this month, he added.
Wray also said that cyber attacks against the US by Iran and non-state actors are likely to worsen if the conflict widens. Iran's mission to the UN did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
