Hamas officials have stated that none of the Israeli hostages will be released from them without a cease-fire agreement being reached!
Speaking to Al Jazeera, one of the Hamas leaders, Osama Hamdan, responded to Israeli media reports that Hamas was close to a deal to release the prisoners.
Hamdan said Hamas informed all mediators that their priority is to stop the aggression against Gaza once and for all. He said there is currently no talk of a prisoner exchange before the fighting in Gaza stops.
He added that a possible release of captives in exchange for a month-long ceasefire, a detail that was reported by Israeli media, has not been discussed.
Hamas has made it clear that if an agreement is reached to release the hostages it will be for a permanent ceasefire.
