
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, has made an urgent appeal for aid to the people of Gaza.
UN humanitarian workers estimate the number of displaced persons who have arrived at the Rafah border crossing in recent days at around 100,000. They are also afraid of a worsening of the situation.
"A traumatized and exhausted people is drowning more and more. You think getting aid in Gaza is easy? Think again ," Griffiths said.
