A tragic event has shaken the quiet community of Volvera, about 25 kilometers from Turin, where a dispute over a property issue ended in a massacre.
Andrea Longo, 34, a truck driver with a criminal record, stabbed his two neighbors to death with a diving knife, before killing himself.
The incident took place in the early hours of the morning in a building on Via XXIV Maggio, where Longo went to the apartment of his neighbors, Chiara Spatola (28) and Simone Sorrentino (23).
According to preliminary investigations, after a heated argument, he pulled out a knife and stabbed both of them several times. The two young men tried to escape, but the perpetrator chased them and caught them in the courtyard of the building, where he fatally stabbed them one last time.
Despite the immediate intervention of the Pinerolo carabinieri and the 118 emergency teams, all three people were found dead at the scene.
The motives that led to this horrific act are still under investigation. Initial evidence points to previous conflicts between the parties and the young couple's plans to move to another area, specifically to Rivalta Torinese.
Authorities are in the process of collecting further evidence and testimony to fully shed light on this serious event that has left residents of the area in shock.
