
It brings to 59 the number of people found drowned in international waters in the territories that separate Greece from Italy, 47 miles south of the Peloponnese peninsula in its southernmost area of Pylos.

So far, 104 illegal immigrants have been rescued. They were taken by the rescue team and are being transported by helicopter to the Kalamata hospital. Meanwhile, the other 100 have been transferred to the port of Kalamata.
According to the first information of the authorities, the trawler had left from Libya, while the Greek authorities were notified by the Italian ones.
