Kyriakos Mitsotakis

Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be the prime minister of Greece for another 4 years.

"New Democracy" triumphed in Sunday's early elections, securing 158 deputies, as many as it had in the first governing mandate of the past 4 years, and can now create the new government alone, without the need for post-election coalitions.

The center-right party received 50 additional MPs, the maximum bonus provided by the Electoral Code for the winner of the repeat elections, when the political grouping that ranks first secures more than 40% of the votes. The new democracy already has 12 deputies more than in the May 21 elections.

All other parties that entered the parliament in last month's elections have a decrease in the number of deputies, where the most damaged due to the calculation of mandates with the bonus for the winner is Syriza, which ranked second, but which has got 23 deputies less. Political extremes get more MPs.

The surprise of this election is the radical right-wing party Spartans, which was formed this month and secured 12 MPs, the conservative orthodox party Victory and the left-wing radicals Freedom Course. 8 parties are represented in the new parliament.
