The defining question for Russia's future now is whether there are other Prigozhins in the Moscow dome.

He feared color revolutions in the satellite republics. However, he was unaware that he was cultivating such a dangerous enemy within his power. Yevgeny Prigozhin was Putin's creature, he owed everything to him. However, he turned into a Frankenstein who rebelled against his creator. And that suddenly gave him an almost fatal blow in the eyes of the whole world.
In over twenty years in power, Vladimir Putin has survived various crises like a phoenix. And yet after this crisis is over, even if he manages not to surrender in the battle against the militia leader Wagner, he will emerge dangerously weakened by the humiliation he has experienced from the mercenaries who have for years waged his secret wars in world from Africa to Syria, marching without encountering any resistance from the armed forces, almost to the gates of Moscow, while his soldiers, a year and a half ago, had to withdraw from Kiev with their 'tails between the saddles'.
He himself, in his brief and only televised speech, which lasted little more than five minutes, accused Prigozhin of "treason" without ever mentioning his name, the same treatment reserved for his archenemy. advanced behind bars, the dissident Alexei Navalny.
Here Vladimir Putin evoked the so-called "stab in the back" as it happened in 1917 when, according to him, Russia's deserved victory in World War I was stolen and plunged the country into the Bolshevik Revolution and civil war. Words that were intended to convey to the population and the world the determination against the rebels, but which have done nothing but evoke the most dangerous scenarios from the country's past.
In his speech, Putin did not even mention Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu or Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, who were viciously attacked by Prigozhin. He could not stand without defending them, since they represent the state, but he actually defended the deal with the mercenaries. And it is precisely this agreement that has brought the conflict between the army of the Republic and Wagner's troops to the surface.
And this is exactly what accelerated Prigozhin's advancement, endangering Putin's survival from the angry quarrel between the heads of the army.

Fascinating as the idea of the momentary madness is, it seems clear that it was an attempted coup prepared in time: first the video of the fake attack on Wagner, to be used as a 'casus belli' skillfully fabricated by the king of propaganda, then march on Moscow, without firing a shot and meeting almost no resistance. Prigozhin may have influential allies in the elite who have not yet emerged. But they will most likely do it soon. The failed march could have been just a test of Vladimir Putin's overthrow of power./ Pamphlet
