Bad weather grips Europe, what meteorologists warn for the next few days

Bad weather continues to cause problems in Europe.

In Denmark, snow and rain are being replaced by freezing temperatures, with authorities warning citizens to avoid unnecessary driving due to dangerous roads.

Residents of riverside towns in England were hit by heavy rain that swept across Europe this week and flooding paralyzed rail services. A powerful storm with destructive winds submerged over 1,000 homes and businesses. In Gloucester in southern England, water flooded buildings, vehicles and farmland as roads turned into rivers. Hundreds of flood warnings are in effect and according to the environment agency, the impact could last for another 5 days.

"It's a nightmare. A terrible nightmare. We are always on the move, checking the doors, watching everything, but we can't do anything. We can't even use the toilets or the sink," said a resident.

Rising water levels are threatening the collapse of dams in parts of northern Germany, which have been affected by heavy rains for days. The authorities have mobilized volunteers from the civil defense services and millions of sandbags have been distributed in the affected areas.

In France, temperatures are expected to drop drastically over the next few days, and after the floods residents of the Pas-de-Calais region are worried about the frost. If the water level is not reduced enough, frost can cause massive damage to flooded homes.

"If it freezes, it will be a disaster. Everything will move, the walls will crack, everything," says a resident in Montreuil-sur-Mer, where people are doing everything they can to protect their homes.
