Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a press conference on Tuesday, where he spoke about the termination of US military aid to Ukraine.
Shmyhal was asked about the possible consequences of cutting off support, emphasizing that such a decision would have a major negative impact on the lives of civilians.
Shmyhal underlined that US military support has already saved "thousands, maybe tens of thousands" of lives, contributing to the defense of Ukrainian cities and the efforts of Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines.
He stressed the importance of exchanging data on air defense against drone and missile attacks from Russia.
He said that Ukraine is “very grateful” to the American people, Congress and the administration for their continued support during more than three years of the fight against Russian occupation. The Ukrainian prime minister stressed that the US remains Ukraine’s most important strategic partner. He assured that Ukraine will continue to work to maintain and expand this cooperation in a calm and diplomatic manner.
Shmyal announced that Kiev is ready to sign a mineral-sharing agreement with the US, adding that this is another important step in strengthening ties between the two countries.
