Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that the US-Israeli attacks on Iran constitute "a clear violation of international law" and warned of serious consequences for regional and global security if an immediate ceasefire is not achieved.
According to Turkish media, including Daily Sabah, Erdogan stressed that Ankara will increase diplomatic efforts until a ceasefire is established and calm is restored in the region. He made the statements during an iftar dinner organized at the headquarters of the Justice and Development Party (AKP).
The Turkish president called on the US, Israel and all parties involved to immediately cease hostilities and return to dialogue. He warned that “secret scenarios and dangerous calculations are being prepared behind closed doors” that could further destabilize the region.
Erdogan stressed that Turkey is prepared to manage the crisis thanks to the experience of its institutions and security structures. He called for national unity and solidarity, underlining the importance of an active foreign policy, a stable economy and a strong defense industry to face the current challenges.
"We know well every trap, every hidden agenda and the ambitions behind them. Turkey will face these challenges with determination, guaranteeing the stability and security of our citizens," he declared.
The Turkish president announced that Ankara has intensified contacts with international leaders, including US President Donald Trump, as well as the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Germany and NATO, with the aim of preventing escalation.
Erdogan expressed condolences for the victims in Iran and stressed solidarity with the Iranian people, reiterating that only a quick ceasefire can avoid the expansion of the conflict and further destabilization of the Middle East.

Kjo ka një shpjegim. Benjamin Netanjahu e bëri fakt, e bëri proçkën dhe ja futi Donald Tramp. Nuk jam zëdhënës i Erdogan por, në perceptimin tim, Erdogan nuk vesh fustan që mos ta gjejë Netanjahu. E njeh apo se njeh gjykatën ndërkombëtare për krime lufte, Rusia ka kryer krime lufte në Ukrahinë, Netanjahu në Gaza dhe Netanjahu në Iran. Lus Zotin që sygjerimi i Erdogan të shqyrtohet në SHBA, në Iran dhe ti jepet fund luftës. Lufta në Iran, është luftë e Izraelit, nuk është luftë e SHBA.
