Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has left Pakistan ahead of the arrival of a US delegation, in a move that signals continued tensions between the two countries.
This development comes after Tehran earlier made it clear that it will not hold direct talks with Washington in Islamabad.
"The two delegations will not hold direct talks in Islamabad ," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said.
Meanwhile, according to international media reports, the American delegation is expected to arrive in Pakistan this evening, while currently the conditions for dialogue remain unfulfilled.
Sources cited by Israeli media report that Iran refuses to enter into talks without lifting the blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, a key condition for any potential negotiations.
On the other hand, Pakistani mediators appear pessimistic about the progress of the process, implying that the possibility of a peace agreement at this stage remains limited.
