Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that the United States has requested the postponement of the next round of trilateral talks, Ukraine-Russia-US, to resolve the war, which has now entered its fifth year.

According to Zelensky, who spoke after his visit to France, the American negotiators were unable to leave due to the tense situation in the Middle East, specifically the war with Iran that has erupted and attracted Washington's full attention.

The talks, originally scheduled for March 5-9, initially in Abu Dhabi, but made impossible due to Iranian attacks, were postponed at the suggestion of the US.

Then, the next round was planned for March 10-11 in Turkey, but was postponed again to the next week, i.e. after March 13, 2026, for the same reason, the US priority is the crisis with Iran.

Russia has expressed dissatisfaction with holding the talks in the US and has suggested alternatives such as Switzerland or Turkey. Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is ready for negotiations "at any moment" but depends on the US as the organizing party.

The situation remains fluid: talks are expected to resume soon, perhaps next week, but the war in the Middle East is directly affecting the dynamics of the negotiations on Ukraine.
