The United Nations has appealed for more than $300 million to provide humanitarian aid to Lebanon due to ongoing Israeli attacks.
"Solidarity in words must be matched by solidarity in action," said UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as he announced the campaign, which is seeking $308 million.

More than 800,000 people, roughly one-seventh of Lebanon's population, have been displaced as the Israeli military issues evacuation orders for its military operations against Hezbollah, which began on March 2. Most attacks against the Iran-backed militant group have been concentrated in the capital, Beirut, but other areas of the country have also been hit.

Aid organizations operating in the country have said funding constraints have already forced them to ration supplies. Images from downtown Beirut showed significant damage from Israeli strikes on buildings.
