Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that his country will continue to strike Iranian targets "with full force," raising the stakes in the confrontation between the two countries.
His statement comes after reports from Israeli officials that Alireza Tangsiri, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval forces, has been killed in an airstrike on Iranian territory.
"We continue to strike with force the targets of the Iranian terrorist regime," Netanyahu said.
He added that the latest operation targeted a key figure in the Iranian military structures.
"Last night, we eliminated the commander of the Revolutionary Guards' navy. This man had a lot of blood on his hands and was the person who led the closure of the Strait of Hormuz," the Israeli prime minister declared.
Netanyahu also emphasized cooperation with the United States in this context.
"This is another example of cooperation between us and our friend, the United States, towards achieving war objectives," he said.
So far, neither the United States nor Iran have officially reacted to the claim of the killing of the Iranian commander.
